**I used granulated onion and garlic from Costco. If using onion and/or garlic powder, start with 1/2 tsp and add more to taste as the flavor is more concentrated.
**I like to use home-cooked beans that have been slightly overcooked. For canned or firmer beans, you may need to add additional water to achieve a smooth consistency.
